A Trip to the Parthenon by Nina



Hi it's Nina. Yesterday I went to the Parthenon. It's an ancient temple made for Athena. It is on top of the Acropolis, which means the highest city. It takes forever to get up there and it was hot. It lights up at night and it's under conservation right now because it was once a church and a mosque and people didn't like the sculptures. Also, a king named Lord Elgin stole some of them cuz he said he would keep them safe and now England won't give them back. I'm gonna talk to Colin about that when I get home. I met a nice cat there, I called him Butterscotchy and he had icky eyes. I also brought Flat Nina up there.

    Hi Nina! I think it is a wonderful idea to bring Flat Nina with you! My 3rd grade class does a Flat Stanley project every year. This year, the farthest he traveled was to Brazil. He spent some time with a family on the Amazon River. Your Flat Nina is definitely having an adventure and learning alot!

    That's a lucky cat living up there on the parthenon--even if he has yucky eyes.

    For some reason Kakoo can't sign up as a follower or post (the blog won't let her!) so here is her message to you: Hey, Angus & Nina, I am loving your posts--it's so exciting to read about what you're doing, even if it's just being hot (Nina maybe you need a big straw hat for viewing hot Greek ruins. What do Greek hats look like?), or being bored by an opera about some cheating guy (which may get less boring to you later, Angus)! I'm sorry I haven't been posting--I've tried several times and they don't show up on the page! But trust me, Uncle Adam and I are dedicated followers of your blog and loving every word & photo.
